Sermon Snapshot #1: Don’t Miss the Mission (from Flow pt.4-Acts 17)

OK, so here’s the first “sermon snapshot” from Sunday, January 24, 2010 – Flow pt.4: Liquid Evangelism. This particular clip is actually three clips, one from the beginning, and two from the end of the sermon. Hopefully a good reminder and some good things to think about…

Sermon Snapshot #3: Missional vs Attractional

Here is a little piece from the sermon where I discussed two different approaches to “church”. Think it through…

Sermon Snapshot #2: Historical Perspective on Acts 17

I was so honored to have with me on Sunday, Pete Lackey, who is one of the most brilliant people I know. He’s studied long and hard on so many subjects and can articulate thoughts like nobody’s business. He had like 30 minutes worth of content, but we only had 10-12 minutes to fit it all in… but he did his best. Here is the “discussion” Pete and I had about the historical context of Acts 17 and the sermon on Mars Hill — I personally found it really helpful for understanding what God would have us take from Acts 17. As Christians we have a calling to live our lives “on mission” — our Christian faith is not just an additive to our lives, but it is our lives. Do you and I reflect that? So in this post I want to review the key principles we got from Acts 17 and then share with you (via a blog from another pastor) so very PRACTICAL ways you could begin to share faith in your world…

Flow series Next Steps

I was asked to prepare some “next steps” for this week’s worship folder (bulletin) related to our current series: “Flow” — here’s what I wrote (before editing). My hope is you might take one or two of these and try them out. My experience in church life is that we get lots of information, but it doesn’t become transformation until we act on it, even in a small way. So break the unhealthy patterns of too much information and too little application — take a step. Here’s 5 to choose from:
