Starting Point- Test Driving a Small Group at Grace Church
Next Small Group Launch- Sunday, February 12 - 6:00pm in room 225/227 on the main level at Grace Church Roseville.
Interested in meeting people and growing in your connection with God?
• Don’t miss the next small group launch—open to anyone (marrieds or singles)
• Join us for a six-week “test drive” of small groups.
• We will form 6-10 new small groups which will continue to meet for an additional five-weeks at various times and days, based on member’s schedules. After the initial six-week period, small group participants can chose to continue to meet as a small group or come to another STARTING POINT.
What is Starting Point? Starting Point is an easy vehicle to help people get into a small groups and let them give it a try. It is open to anyone and is a great way to meet new people and connect with other Grace attendees. It is both for those who have never tried a small group before or for anyone who wants a change from the small group they have been in. Starting Point is all about fellowship and biblical discussion in a small group setting that can be more casual than is possible on Sunday morning.
Who is in a Starting Point group? Groups of 10-12 people are formed from those who attend the first Starting Point meeting. We do not try to create specific groups from any profiles or demographics.
What will we study or what do we talk about? Bible Study materials are provided at the first meeting. Small groups are not about having “the answers” but about discovering biblical truth and life applications for growing together in Christ.
How long should the meetings last? Generally 90-120 minutes from start to finish.
Where do we meet? At the first meeting, those in the group will decide as group where and when to meet for the next week. If homes are not available, the church can be used as a good central location.
How long is my commitment? It is a six-meeting commitment, so five more meetings after the "Starting Point" group launch initial meeting.
What happens at the end? People often want to stay together as a group; however, for those who just wanted to check out other small groups, we want to make it easy for them to exit. If the group decides to stay together, they select a new leader , Bible study topic and meeting time and place.
