40 days after Jesus rose on Easter morning, He ascended to Heaven, and then the early church began. Friday, May 15th marks 40 days after Easter. The early church did not look at all like our modern church where we go to a large building, instead people gathered in smaller groups in homes around a meal. We want to remember, celebrate and experience the sense of community the early church shared by gathering in homes for a meal on Friday evening May 15, or Saturday evening May 16.
If you are willing to host, we ask that you open your home to others from Grace and provide the main course of the meal, but also allow others to bring something to compliment the meal. You'll receive the list of those attending on May 11th, the Monday prior to the weekend. We ask that you contact those who are coming with information about your home, the main food you'll provide, and what they can bring.
If you would prefer to attend, rather than host, use the button below to let us know and your host will contact you a few days before the supper. We anticipate that some hosts will have capacity to include children, and there may be others where that is not possible. We will match you with a host based on your preferences.
We are excited for this time to enjoy our church community together!
